Selected for the IEEE IROS 2026 Innovation Stage

SafeSurg joins the Regional Industry Showcase at IEEE IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh, 27 September to 1 October 2026, with a 15-minute startup presentation and a Lunch and Learn founders' panel on Tuesday 29 September. First in-person international appearance for the lab.

Presented at the 10th Annual Lagos Studies Association Conference

Timothy Ayelagbe presented work connecting the historical and ethical dimensions of surgical care to SafeSurg's mission of building trustworthy, accessible surgical technology for African patients.

Presented at the IEEE ICRA 2026 TABxStartup Workshop

SafeSurg was presented to the ICRA 2026 workshop on medical robotics in Vienna, introducing the lab's mission, technology and roadmap to a global robotics audience.

Four papers accepted at IEEE NIGERCON 2026

Four SafeSurg papers spanning surgical robotics, needle steering, chest radiograph screening and rehabilitation exoskeleton design were accepted, with presentations on 5 and 6 November 2026 and publication on IEEE Xplore to follow.
